Fiberglass lamp shades graced living rooms from the 1940s through the 60s, and were particularly popular in the 50s. Most had hand-stitching along the edges that tied it to a wire frame. A classic design featured sometimes 2 or 3 tiers of fiberglass, as well as a simple drum shade. They were often white or bright colors with mid-century modern motifs such as kidney shapes. Wonderful!
